David Ganek: More Info

Art Interests

David Ganek’s art collection is impressive. He’s one of the most known collectors of art works by Richard Prince and photographer Diane Arbus. He also owns art pieces by Jeff Koons, John Currin, Cindy Sherman, and Mike Kelley. (When he founded Level Global Investors in 2003, he commissioned painter Ed Ruscha to paint a picture that incorporated the word “Level”. Today it hangs in the firm’s headquarters.) In addition, David Ganek actively donates art and raises money for various arts institutions. He said that he would provide 13 vintage Diane Arbus photographs to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and he’s given or lent other works to organizations in New York, London and Chicago. In addition, his art passion has earned him social status. Former Guggenheim director Lisa Dennison recruited Ganek as a fundraiser and in 2006 he helped raise $4 million to help the museum. Currently, he is a Guggenheim trustee.
