Abigail Pierrepont Johnson, is President of her father’s company, Fidelity Investments (also known as Fidelity Management and Research). But she didn’t land this position due to her family heritage; she started off as a stock analyst in 1988 and then moved up to portfolio manager. Other executive positions she held at the company before becoming President include: associate director; senior vice president; president of investment services; president of Fidelity’s Employer Services Company. Johnson runs the employer services division of Fidelity Investments, the Boston-based powerhouse which was founded by her grandfather. In 2004, the company managed $893 billion in assets on the mutual-fund market, which has led to her being seen as the most influential woman among the ranks of American financial executives.
