As President of Skanska USA Building Inc., Bill Flemming is responsible for overall management and operations of the company. He has been with the company since 1987. Through his work with Skanska’s National Green Council, he promotes environmentally-responsible construction. With Flemming at the helm, the company has achieved earnings “that have exceeded corporate goals.” A culture of “teamwork, transparency and performance excellence” has also been developed at Skanska thanks to Flemming. In an effort to capitalize on the company’s core markets and expertise, he set up Skanska’s Centers of Excellence for sports, healthcare, federal, mission critical and design-build. Other executive roles Flemming has held at the company include co-COO of operations in Boston, Connecticut, NY and NJ which rendered him responsible for the management of major projects like the New Meadowlands Stadium and the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University. As well, he was VP of Preconstruction Services at Skanska, during which time he was in charge of streamlining national procurement, cost estimating and design management, including assisting local operations in managing the construction and design processes on design-build projects.
