Bill Gross is a co-founder, MD and co-CIO of PIMCO. He has been with the company since he co-founded it in 1971 with $12 million of assets. Today he is responsible for supervising the management of over $1.7 trillion of securities as well as the management of the Pimco Total Return bond fund, that has enjoyed an average gain of around 8.3% for the past decade. In 1993, in a survey conducted by Pensions and Investments magazine, Gross was recognized by his peers as “the most influential authority on the bond market in the U.S.” Indeed, he is perhaps the most successful bond investor of this generation and is often referred to as “the Warren Buffett of the bond world.”
