Today 3M is headquartered on a 475 acre campus in Maplewood, Minnesota, but was originally located on the North Shore of Lake Superior in Illgen City, soon moving to Two Harbors in 1902. Formerly known as the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company today, as 3M, they employ more than 84,000 workers and produce over 55,000 products. Among the products 3M manufactures are adhesives, abrasives, laminates, passive fire protection, dental products, electronic materials, medical products, car care products (such as sun films, polish, wax, car shampoo, treatment for the exterior, interior and the under chassis rust protection), electronic circuits and optical films.
3M operates in 60 countries and their products are available throughout the world in over 200 countries.
