Born in Connecticut in 1936, Charles W. Moritz began to lead the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation immediately after the business information services company had acquired the major market research firm, A.C. Nielsen. Moritz proved successful in the integration of Nielsen into D&B, assuring that this merger was smooth and profitable. Moritz was able to continue to lead D&B as the most important provider of business information services. He also improved on-line capabilities, and had excellent financial results for the entire nine years that he led the company.
