One of the top priorities for Cisco is that “customers come first.” The company seeks to establish long-term customer partnership, working together to outline their needs and provide solutions to ensure their success. Finding solutions has always been a huge motivating factor for the husband and wife team – Len Bosack and Sandy Lerner – who started the company. When they were both working for Stanford University they wanted to email each other from their respective offices located in different buildings but couldn’t because of technological limitations. A technology thus had to be invented to deal with disparate local area protocols. They rose to the challenge and the result was the multi-protocol router. Since then Cisco has shaped the direction of the web by establishing unprecedented value and opportunity for our customers, employees, investors and ecosystem partners. It is thus today a global leader in networking, having totally changed the way people “connect, communicate and collaborate.”
