Having joined Aflac Incorporated in 1973, Dan Amos was appointed its president after having served the company for a decade. In 1987, he became its COO and three years later, its CEO. In 2001, Amos was appointed Chairman of Aflac Incorporated as well. Since 1990, when he became CEO of the company, its revenues have increased from $2.7 billion to $22.2 billion in around four years. As well, it was he who was the leader in the company’s launch of its Aflac Duck advertising campaign, turning Aflac Incorporated into a top national brand. Indeed, in 2011 the company was named one of the nation’s Most Admired Companies for an 11th time, by FORTUNE Magazine.
