Henderson Industries was founded by Henry Henderson and John Dotson in 1954 from the basement of Henderson’s New Jersey home while he was working his day job at Richardson Scale. The company got its big chance when Richardson Scale had a number of backlogged orders and subcontracted out to Henderson to finish the orders.
In 1967 Dotson sold his interest in the company to Henderson, and then later that same year Henderson left Richardson Scale and devoted all his time to nurturing the growth of his own company, Henderson Industries. HI manufactures sophisticated instrumentation and control panels and has its headquarters in the West Caldwell Industrial Park. Today Henderson is a high-tech electronics company and is situated in a manufacturing plant with 44,400 square feet of space with revenues of $50 million per year.
