Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi, became president and CFO of Pepsi Co. seven years after she joined the company. He has also been in charge of the company’s global strategy for over 10 years. She was responsible for the company’s entire restructuring, most notably the divestiture of its restaurants in 1997 into Tricon (which later became Yum! brands). Under her leadership the following acquisitions and mergers were made: Tropicana acquisition and Quaker oats merger (that brought Gatorade with it). Nooyi has definitely made some significant strides for the company, increasing its revenues 72 percent, doubling its net profit and more. Due to her success at Pepsi Co. she was ranked the third most powerful woman in 2008 by Forbes; was on the Wall Street Journal’s list of 50 women to watch in 2007-8 as well as Time’s 100 Most Influential People in The World over the same two years.
