In 1995 Martha Robinson Rivers Ingram took over the family business of Ingram Industries after her husband’s death, becoming the chief executive officer chairman of one of the US’s largest privately owned companies. Ingram was also the former chairman of the Board of Trustees of Vanderbilt University, and is a well-known patron of the arts in Nashville, Tennessee, where her and her late husband Bronson dwelled. Since her husband’s death and her taking over the reins of the company Ingram has proved herself a capable business woman in her own right.
Ms. Ingram was born in South Carolina and graduated from Vassar College.
