Novogratz and his wife, Dora Caceres, have four children. In 2005, the family purchased Robert De Niro’s former Hudson Street loft for $12.25 million. They expanded the 4,600-square-foot space a year later when by purchasing the apartment directly below for $5.3 million. The family sometimes spends weekends at their Amagansett home which they purchased for $2.3 million in 1998.

When they complete construction of their vacation home, the Novogratzes will start vacationing in the Dominican Republic.

Philanthropy

Michael Novogratz is as chairman of the Beat the Streets program, which funds middle school and high school wrestling teams. He serves on the board of School for Strings, which supports music education in public schools, and Acumen Fund, an anti-poverty group which his sister, Jacqueline Novogratz, founded. He is also on the board of trustees of the NYU Medical Center, together with fellow Wall Street greats Larry Fink, Gary Cohn, Jamie Dimonand Bob Pittman, among others.

Campaign trail

Novogratz is a major contributor to the Democratic Party. He and his wife have donated over $100,000 to the Democrats since 2004.
