Paul C. Saville became President and CEO of NVR in 2005. Before that, positions he held at the company included: Senior VP of Finance; CFO and Treasurer; and Executive VP. In 2010, he was named one of the 50 most powerful people in real estate. Aside from a brief time with an aerospace firm, Saville has been in this industry throughout his working life. He joined NVR in 1981 when it was a very small company and has been a key place in its incredible growth and success ever since. It was down to Saville that the company moved away from making investments in undeveloped land. It has been thought that it was this particular strategy which helped NVR cope with the housing slump far better than its counterparts in the same field.
