Headquartered in San Diego, California, Qualcomm is a mobile, computing and connectivity technologies company. With 157 locations around the world Qualcomm is an umbrella company for several divisions including Qualcomm Technology Licensing Division and Qualcomm Technologies.
Qualcomm was founded in 1985 by Irwin Jacobs, a graduate of MIT Professor at UC San Diego; and Andrew Viterbi, Harvey White, Adelia Coffman, Andrew Cohen, Klein Gilhousen, and Franklin Antonio, graduates of the University of Southern California. One of Qualcomm’s first products was the OmniTRACS satellite locating and messaging service which was developed from Omninet which was then jointly owned by Neil Kadisha and Parviz Nazarian.
