Robert J. McCarthy is Chief Operations Officer at Marriott International, Inc. In this capacity, he is in charge of Global Lodging Services and The Ritz-Carlton. He also has to supervise the presidents of the company’s four continental operating divisions – a role he has in conjunction with President and CEO Arne Sorenson.??Other key executive positions McCarthy has held at the company include: Group President (whereby he took charge of the fiscal management and leadership of 3,600+ hotels in The Americas, spanning many lodging brands, and a workforce of 120,000 associates); international lodging support services to the company’s continental organizations in sales, revenue management, marketing, brand management, operations, architecture and construction, and information resources.??Today, McCarthy sits on Marriott’s Corporate Growth Committee, as well as its Committee for Excellence, chartered by the firm’s board of directors. Within this, he seeks to establish and keep track of meaningful diversity and inclusion objectives at every level of the company.
