Stanley Druckenmiller: More Info

Stanley Druckenmiller is married to Fiona Biggs, niece of investor Barton Biggs. The Druckenmillers have three daughters.

Philanthropy

Stanley Druckenmiller contributed more money to charity than any other American in 2009. He donated $705 million to a foundation that supports education, medical research, and antipoverty charities.

In addition, Stanley Druckenmiller is the chairman of the board of Harlem Children’s Zone, a community-based, multi-faceted project. Harlem Children’s Zone was established by Druckenmiller’s college friend and Geoffrey Canada. Druckenmiller and his wife are also main sponsors of the New York City AIDS walk.

He has been profiled in the book The New Market Wizards by Jack D. Schwager.

Mr. Druckenmiller maintains a somewhat Spartan regimen in his luxury penthouse on East 72d Street and in their weekend home in Southampton that he shares with his wife (Fiona Biggs, a Dreyfus money manager and a niece of Barton Biggs, the Morgan Stanley managing director) and their three daughters. Mr. Druckenmiller works out in his apartment gym, jogs in Southampton and sometimes goes to bed at 8:30 P.M. on weekends.

He has hunted at the Maryland barony of Paul Tudor Jones, the owner of Tudor Investment; he also socializes with Stanley Shopkorn, a former vice chairman at Salomon Brothers, and he plays a great game of golf.
