In 1992, Steven A. Cohen left Gruntal and founded SAC Capital Partners using $20 million of his own money; currently, the company manages $14 billion in equity. SAC is a multi-strategy, private asset management firm.
SAC’s initial investment style was initially “trading” oriented. However, it has developed into a multi-strategy, multi-disciplinary, investment management firm using strong research and risk management methods.
