The Venetian, The Palazzo and The Sands Exposition and Convention Center assessed in its entirety – as a “campus” – is one of the world’s biggest green facilities. It comprises a “nano” filtration system that transforms wastewater into irrigation to be used for plants. As well, over 75 percent of food waste is used again as compost or animal feed at local farms. Taken together, the casinos under this umbrella include: The Sands Exposition and Convention Center – the first one to be opened – which was launched in 1990; The Venetian (opened in 1999), Sands Macao (2004), The Palazzo Las Vegas (2007), The Venetian Macao (2007), The Four Seasons Hotel in Macao (2008), The Sands in Bethlehem (2009) and, finally, to date, the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore (which was opened in 2010).
