The Yad Hanadiv Foundation was established in 1958 to “create resources for advancing Israel as a healthy, vibrant, democratic society, committed to Jewish values and equal opportunity for the benefit of all its inhabitants, carrying forward the philanthropic tradition of the Rothschild family.” It seeks to act as an advocate in Israel for a range of Rothschild family philanthropic trusts, continuing the legacy established in the second part of the 19th century by Baron Edmond de Rothschild bolstering Jewish revival in Palestine.
